'Stardew Valley' Sanrio Mod Adds Cottoncloud Town While Fans Await 'Haunted Chocolatier'

While "Stardew Valley" creator ConcernedApe continues working on "Haunted Chocolatier" and the upcoming "Stardew Valley" 1.7 update, the game's modding community is keeping players entertained with ambitious fan-made projects.

One of the latest additions is Cottoncloud Town, a Sanrio-inspired expansion that introduces a colorful new location, original characters, and dozens of new items.

Created by Nexus Mods user otohimexoxo, the free mod offers a fresh adventure for players looking to revisit "Stardew Valley" while waiting for ConcernedApe's next major release.

Cottoncloud Town Adds a Whimsical New Area

Cottoncloud Town transports players to a floating pastel-themed town inspired by Cinnamoroll and other beloved Sanrio characters.

Unlike Pelican Town's rural setting, the new location embraces a fantasy aesthetic while preserving Stardew Valley's signature pixel-art style and relaxing gameplay.

The expansion blends seamlessly with the base game, offering vibrant environments and charming new residents without feeling out of place. Its polished presentation has quickly made it one of the most talked-about "Stardew Valley" mods available on Nexus Mods.

New NPCs, Fish, Recipes, and Furniture

The Cottoncloud Town mod includes a substantial amount of content beyond its colorful visuals.

Players can discover:

  • Nine brand-new NPCs
  • 47 new food items and cooking recipes
  • Eight additional fish species
  • 46 exclusive furniture pieces

The project continues to receive regular updates. Since its debut earlier this year, the creator has expanded the mod with bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and new content.

Future updates are expected to introduce additional Sanrio favorites, including Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Kuromi, along with unique heart events and character interactions for each new resident.

If you love to play similar games to "Stardew Valley," you can start with this kingdom-building game called "Hearth and Hamlet."

Free Sanrio-Inspired Experience

Sanrio has partnered with several popular video game franchises over the years, but many fans believe Cottoncloud Town offers an experience comparable to official collaborations despite being completely free.

Unlike some live-service games that limit progression through daily activities, this "Stardew Valley" expansion allows players to explore its content at their own pace.

According to ScreenRant, the mod has also attracted an international audience, with community-made translations available in multiple languages, including Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Stardew Valley's Modding Community Remains Strong

The "Haunted Chocolatier" waiting time might extend since there are a lot of improvements that Eric Barone needs to finish. But we know, at the end of the day, it will be more than worth it.
