Starbucks reopens 150 branches today - here's how to see if yours is included

Starbucks will reopen more stores to the public again today after closing in March due to the coronavirus crisis.

The coffee chain began a phased reopening across the UK on May 14 for takeaway and drive-thru, but has now opened more doors.

Starbucks said: "As part of our phased approach that puts the safety of customers and staff first, we're opening more stores from today.

"These stores will be 'to-go' only, for you to collect, drive-thru or use the Starbucks UK App to order ahead. We're excited to be serving you again!"

The coffee chain said it will open around 15% of UK stores in the first phase of its reopening plans, mainly focusing on drive-thrus with a "handful" of takeaway only branches included, reports The Mirror.

New safety measures at UK sites will include regular hand-washing for at least 20 seconds, two-metre social distancing, screens at payment areas and the use of contactless payment only.

The reopening menu will include Starbucks' core range of drinks and a limited food range, it said.

You can find out whether your local branch is opening by entering your postcode here.

It comes after McDonald's reopened 39 restaurants on Wednesday with a limited menu and spending cap of £25 per order.

The fast-food chain hopes to have all drive-thrus open by June.
