Starbucks Hamilton donate coffee and cakes to NHS Lanarkshire staff at Hairmyres

Generous Starbucks workers at the Hamilton drive-thru and cafe have been stirring up support for NHS staff.

The team delivered a box of goodies to staff at the University Hospital Hairmyres this morning (Monday), and are also offering free tea or filtered coffee to any NHS workers who show up at the drive-thru in Palace Retail Park.

Starbucks employees Andrew Todd and Molly Miller arrived at Hairmyres Hospital with a box containing hot drinks, breakfast and lunch food items, and other snacks that busy NHS staff can eat on the go.

Jolene Hamilton, manager of the Starbucks drive-thru and cafe, said: “We just wanted to show our support for hard-working NHS staff who are doing such an important job right now and are under a lot of pressure.

“We know they don’t have a lot of time to spare to have proper meals, so we wanted to help out by providing some food that they can have on the go. We hope that the Hairmyres staff enjoy their goodies on us.”

The coronavirus pandemic is affecting the popular Starbucks just like virtually every other business, due to social distancing.

Jolene said: “These are unprecedented times. We don’t have any more food coming in now to the store, right now it’s just coffee to go.

“We will also be giving all NHS staff free tea and filtered coffee at our drive-thru. We say thank you to all the key line workers who are supporting our community.”
