Starbucks announces new lineup of drinks focused on this seasonal, floral flavor

The spring is coming — thankfully, for those who power through the winter cold — which also means that there's a long wait until Starbucks'  (SBUX)  next set of famous winter drinks.

But the coffee giant has announced a new batch of drinks for the coming season that will welcome the warmer temperatures and the blooming flowers of spring.

Starbucks announced on Thursday, Mar. 7 that it would be carrying two new drinks — the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha and the Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte.

The Matcha drink is described in the announcement as featuring the company's "smooth and creamy matcha and oatmilk served over ice, and topped with lavender cream cold foam, which creates sweet and subtle floral notes."

On the other hand, the latte is described as a combination of "the soft, beautifully balanced flavors of Starbucks Blonde Espresso with creamy oatmilk, ice, and sweet and subtle floral notes of lavender."

The two drinks are already available at many of the company's stores as of today.

Starbucks has been facing some turbulence lately, which has seen the company's stock drop more than 13% over the last 12 months.

The company is facing boycotts all over the world due to the Israel-Hamas war, and its Middle East market has reportedly suffered from a business standpoint. The company is reportedly cutting 2,000 jobs in the Middle East due to what the Kuwait-based Alsyhaya Group described as "challenging trading conditions over the last six months."

Starbucks has also faced workforce challenges domestically. Starbucks Workers United, the company's workers union, has continued to lobby for better working conditions over the last several months, conducting boycotts in several cities during major days like the company's iconic "Red Cup Day" in November.
