Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is finally arriving in cinemas and sees the central Star Wars film series come to a close and wrap up the tale of the Skywalker saga.
The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams returns to helm the final battle of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and the Resistance against Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order.

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker has a runtime of 142 minutes, equalling 2 hours and 22 minutes.
The Rise of Skywalker matches the runtime of prequel trilogy film Attack of the Clones.

This is shorter than the preceding film The Last Jedi which came to 152 minutes, or 2 hours 32 minutes.
The Last Jedi is the longest film in the franchise's history.
J.J. Abrams' previous film The Force Awakens, however, came out shorter at 135 minutes, or 2 hours 15 minutes.
