Star Wars: Return of the Jedi live orchestra tour to visit UK in 2020

A series of orchestral screenings of classic movie Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is coming to the UK in 2020.

The show will premiere at the Royal Albert Hall in London from October 23-25, before heading out on the road. The touring production will visit eight cities, including shows at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall and Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall.

The screenings will feature live performances of the music written by John Williams, with the film projected on an ultra HD screen.

Tickets for the touring production are priced from £35.50 and go on sale from November 29 –​ they can be bought here. Tickets for the London premiere shows can be bought here.

  • October 23-25 – London Royal Albert Hall (non-tour shows)
  • November 8 – Nottingham Royal Concert Hall
  • November 9 – Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
  • November 10 – Cardiff St David’s Hall
  • November 25 – Sheffield City Hall
  • November 26 – Bath Forum
  • November 27 – Manchester Bridgewater Hall
  • November 28 – Birmingham Symphony Hall
  • November 29 – Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

Return of the Jedi was released in 1983 and brought a close to the original trilogy of Star Wars movies.

The film follows Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) as he attempts to bring Darth Vader back from the Dark Side. He's also tasked with rescuing Han Solo (Harrison Ford) from the clutches of crime lord Jabba the Hut, with the Rebel Alliance attempt to destroy the second Death Star.
