Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order trailer: Release date, Cameron Monaghan role confirmed

"Don't stand out. Accept the past. Trust no one."

The trailer for the much-anticipated video game Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order has been unveiled, giving fans a dramatic look at the content of the game.

The footage debuted at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Illinois, where it was also confirmed that Gotham star Cameron Monaghan will star as the voice of our hero and Jedi padawan Cal Kestis.

Monaghan, who appeared at the panel in Chicago, revealed the character is "street-smart" but "optimistic", adding that his story was "very human and relatable".

This makes sense as the format of the game has been revealed to be single-player fantasy story game.

The game is set in the aftermath of the Galactic Empire executing Order 66, as seen in the film Revenge of the Sith, which ordered a purge of all Jedi.

The protagonist Cal is a Jedi padawan in hiding from the Empire in the game, being pursued by a whole new type of stormtrooper: the Purge troopers.

Fans will also recognise the inquisitors, the one in the trailer being Second Sister, from acclaimed animated series Star Wars: Rebels.

The footage shows her using her own force abiltiies.

Jedi Fallen Order also features a droid character named Buddy Droid 1, or BD-1, with Monaghan comparing Cal and BD-1's relationship "the story of a boy and its dog".

We also see the character of Sia, a Jedi master who Cal joins with and who, along with others, form an underground "family" who "band together and explore the Galaxy".

It was also hinted at that the lightsaber that Cal handles in the trailer is not, in fact, his own.

So many questions.

But when is it out?

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is released on Xbox, PC, and Playstation 4 on November 15, 2019.
