Star Wars Day: Yankees’ CC Sabathia went all out as a 6-foot-6 Yoda

For all the Star Wars fanatics out there, Saturday is a big deal. It’s Star Wars Day — May The Fourth Be With You — and fans are celebrating the decades-long movie franchise with tributes to the movies.

But no one did it better than CC Sabathia.

The New York Yankees pitcher — who, this week, became the 17th pitcher in baseball history to strike out 3,000 batters — showed up in style Saturday to pass out bobbleheads of himself as a Jedi. Sabathia dressed up as Yoda — albeit a 6-foot-6, 300-pound Yoda — in an incredible costume that included green face paint.

Sabathia wins Star Wars Day, and it’s not even kind of close. We hope he hangs out in the dugout all afternoon in costume during the Yankees’ matchup against the Minnesota Twins.

Here’s a look at how some other sports celebrated Star Wars Day.
