Star Wars and Lord of The Rings props and movie memorabilia to go on display

Star Wars and Lord of The Rings fans will want to get down to The Royal Armouries Museum to see some amazing props from the famous films.

The popular Leeds city centre attraction will be displaying the items as part of the new exhibition.

You’ll be able to see blasters from Star Wars, swords from the Lords of The Rings series as well as helmets from Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

Laura Bell, director of collections, said "For many, knowledge of arms and armour begins in popular culture, and whether we see it in film or television, some of the most iconic scenes on the silver screen have revolved around these objects.”

Other movie memorabilia includes Lancelot's armour from the 1981 film Excalibur about King Arthur and a pulse rifle from sci-fi horror series Aliens.

The props have been bought with money from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

You can find out more by visiting the Royal Armouries Museum website.
