Star Wars 9: Daisy Ridley talks '"really cool" Dark Rey, Kylo Ren redemption

Don't go expecting The Rise of Skywalker to be polarising.

Actress Daisy Ridley , who plays Star Wars heroine Rey, has revealed that the final chapter of the Skywalker saga won't be as controversial as the hit HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones.

The British star spoke to MTV News about catching up on the zeitgeist series and also addressed its ending.

Game of Thrones polarised audiences due to a number of plot points, including who ended up on the throne at the end, how Daenerys Targaryen descended into madness, and the actions of Jon Snow against her.

Daisy Ridley revealed about Star Wars, however: "I think this ending will be less controversial."

The actress also spoke about the 'Dark Rey' glimpsed in the recently released D23 Expo footage of The Rise of Skywalker and said that playing this iteration of the character "felt really cool".

Ridley was also asked about the possibility for redemption for another character: Adam Driver's evil Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo.

She replied: "Is an apology ever enough? Will actions speak loud than words? Where will we end up? Is a good question. And a question that is posed by the film."

Interesting!

On The Rise of Skywalker being the end of Rey's journey, Ridley described it as "really, genuinely satisfying."

Fans , including how it ties into the return of classic villain Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid).

But is all as it seems?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released on December 19, 2019.
