Star Wars 9 spoilers 'leak' Palpatine plot, Sith Troopers role, Kylo Ren plan

Warning: Potential spoilers for Stars Wars 9

We have around six months until the release of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker, which will bring the sequel trilogy of Star Wars films and the Skywalker saga to a close.

The war between the Resistance and the First Order continues, with Rey (Daisy Ridley) fighting for the light side of the Force against the evil Supreme Leader of the First Order, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo (Adam Driver).

The trailers have also teased the return of classic villain Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) despite his apparent death in the film Return of the Jedi, but how is he back?

Additionally, it was that new red villains known as Sith Troopers will be introduced in the upcoming film - but was is their allegiance?

Some apparent leaks have revealed the truth behind these villains, but be warned - these could be major spoilers.

Spoiler warning for Star Wars Episode 9

According to a leak from MakingStarWars.net, the Sith Stormtroopers have been in hiding in the unknown regions of the galaxy in a dangerous area of space, dodging gravity wells and dangerous wilderness on a particular mission.

Armed with a fleet with more firepower than the Death Stars, the Sith Stormtroopers lie in wait to enslave the galaxy upon Emperor Palpatine's resurrection.

This is where Kylo Ren becomes involved as he needs the Wayfinder Device which he obtains from a spider-like creature who acts as an oracle for him, this becoming the key to unlocking Palpatine's weapons and legacy.

However, the apparent leaks tease that Palpatine is not concerned with Kylo Ren getting his way, hinting that the two villains will not be on the same side.

Did Supreme Leader Snoke tell Ren of Palpatine's old weapons?

Could this be what forces Kylo Ren to join forces with Rey, at last?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
