Star Wars 9 spoilers 'leak' major lightsaber duel of Rey, Kylo Ren vs Palpatine

Warning: Potential spoilers for Star Wars 9

The sequel Star Wars trilogy looks set to bring the Skywalker saga and the huge war between the Resistance and the First Order to an epic conclusion on an unprecedented scale.

Following on from The Last Jedi, Rey ( Daisy Ridley ) will be working to lead to the Light Side of the Force as the heroic Resistance seeks to overthrow the rule of the evil First Order and their Supreme Leader Kylo Ren/Ben Solo (Adam Driver).

However, one major complication that looks set to be added to the mix is the return of evil Sith Lord and former ruler of the galaxy, Emperor Palpatine ( Ian McDiarmid ).

The character was seemingly killed by Darth Vader in the conclusion of the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi.

How exactly Palpatine returns remains to be seen, but now an apparent leak suggests he will take on Rey and Kylo Ren head-on.

That's right, in an apparent leak via YouTuber Mike Zeroh , Rey and Kylo Ren will team up in an epic lightsaber fight with Palpatine.

The fight sees Palpatine use the Force to take both of the pair's lightsabers while they are still ignited and uses the Force to launch them both at Rey and Kylo Ren like spears.

Next, Ren somehow manages to get both sets of lightsabers and battles with Palpatine using both his own cross-guarded red lightsaber and the blue lightsaber that once belonged to Anakin Skywalker.

He throws his traditional red one to Rey to use and they both go against Palpatine, who proves just as lethal a warrior as he was in the prequel trilogy film Revenge of the Sith.

The apparent leak also states that as this battle happens, the third act sees the First Order takes on the Resistance on a different planet in "a war to end all wars".

If this leak is accurate then it really would be an epic conclusion to the saga.

We would suggest, as always, to take this with a pinch of salt.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
