Paisley’s singing sensation Paolo Nutini is being tipped to be part of a Tartan Army double act - with Sir Rod Stewart.
Veteran rocker Rod wants to pair up with young Paolo if the Scotland team make the World Cup Finals.
Football-mad Rod and Paolo first got together at Hampden Park 14 years ago, when the Paisley star was just 20.
And Rod,76, reckons they could collaborate with a cracker of an anthem for the 2022 Qatar championship.
Rod, who has his own links with Paisley, said it would be “fabulous” to get involved in the project.
He said: “Maybe Paolo and I can get together with other Scots artists and the team and do a song together.

“Get the squad in and Paolo and I can sing a verse each – but let’s get to the World Cup first.”
Paolo has stayed tight-lipped on the potential project, with his management company failing to comment over several days.
Rod was behind ‘Ole Ola’ for the 1978 World Cup song for Argentina, with all the Ally Macleod madness.
The star always used to drop in on a Paisley pub on his way to and from Celtic and Scotland games.
For years he jetted into Glasgow Airport and headed straight for the Wee Barrell boozer in Love Street.
He would then return at night after the match and have one for the road.
Sadly the pub now lies empty.
Rod is known to be keen to get a new song on the go, if the Scotland squad make it to the final.
He teamed up with Paolo at Hampden during a Euro championship qualifier against Italy in 2007.
Paolo had failed to get a ticket and Rod came to the rescue, with drinks thrown in at the Glasgow oyster bar Rogano.
Bookies Ladbrokes are now offering odds of 5-1 that Sir Rod and Last Request singer Paolo will top the charts.
Rod reached No4 in 1978 with his Argentina anthem Ole Ola.
