Star Hobson's auntie shares loving videos of 'special, cheeky' 16-month-old and vows to 'cherish memories forever'

The half-sister of Frankie Smith, Alicia Szepler has shared sweet videos of her beloved niece Star Hobson and said she will 'cherish these moments forever.'

Alicia, Star's auntie, says the toddler was a very special girl who loved music, dancing and chocolate.

She shared poignant video clips of her beautiful niece with our sister site YorkshireLive.

Star was murdered by Smith's partner Savannah Brockhill, 28, in September 2020 after months of abuse and torture.

Smith has been found guilty of causing or allowing the 16-month-old's death.

Alicia said of her niece: "She was very special - she loved music and dancing and shaking her head.

"She had the best personality I have ever known. She loved chocolate especially Twirl - they were her favourite!

"She was cheeky she used to do a little fake laugh and it made me laugh every single time.

"We were very close I loved her so deeply I felt very connected to her.

"I watched her birth I spent nights in the hospital with her. She lived with me for a while and at my mum's as well.

"Some mornings we would get up super early just to play and mess about.

"She loved cuddles and kisses as well - she couldn’t give you enough of them. She would pin me down and cover me with kisses; moments I will forever cherish."

Alicia says she last saw Star on August 14, 2020, just over a month before she died.

She recalled: "This was the last time I saw her.

"I ran to my nana's house down the road and shouted to my nana and grandad 'look who I’ve got' - we still say the same words to this day as we had been banned from seeing her so they were so pleased I took her down."
