Star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum getting Kobe Bryant comparisons as he starts an MVP case

Superstar Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is starting his 2022-23 NBA season off at an MVP-level pace, the St. Louis native already being mentioned among the handful of players around the league as potentially in the early running for the coveted regular season honor.

And it is not just fans pushing such a narrative about the Celtics star this season; even national analysts are seeing something different about his game in 2022-23, with the hosts of the ESPN “NBA Today” show going so far as to compare Tatum to his friend and mentor, the late Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

To hear what the likes of Ramona Shelburne, Kendrick Perkins, Malika Andrews, and Chiney Ogwumike had to say about the Duke alum’s early play this season, take a look at the clip embedded above.
