Stanley Tucci’s Marble Kitchen Countertops Reveal the Secret to Effortless Luxury – Designers Say This Classic Choice Can Elevate Any Home for Years

Headshot of Stanley Tucci.

Whether it's Stanley Tucci's blue kitchen cabinets or his rather enviable home bar, I know his cooking space rather well. In fact, whenever the Hollywood actor posts a video on Instagram, I'm quick to drop what I'm doing and pay attention to his background.

Stanley's kitchen is artfully designed. From the glass crittall doors to the gold hardware, it's a lesson in luxury. While every element shines, there's one that grounds the entire scheme and sets the tone of the space – the marble kitchen countertops.

From the island to the worktops, Stanley's kitchen is decked out in a classic white Carrara marble that beautifully contrasts with the blue cabinets. An enduringly sophisticated choice, marble not only feels luxurious in his kitchen, but it's a clever and surprisingly practical choice for food lovers, like Stanley, who love to cook.

Stanley's marble kitchen is classically elegant. The perfect balance of light and dark, it feels luxurious yet lived-in and inviting, ideal for hosting guests and cooking all at the same time. While the countertops add to its high-end feel, it's worth noting that smaller marble touches can create a similar sense of luxury without the need for a complete kitchen overhaul.

While blue kitchens in theory sound a little bold, Stanley's space is balanced by the white marble countertops. A long-loved way to fuse practicality with style, it's hardly surprising that Stanley features the classic material in his cooking space – it's the perfect choice to stand through years of wear and tear.

Helen Parker, Creative Director of deVOL Kitchens, explains, 'Carrara marble became popular in kitchens around 10 years ago, maybe more; before that, it was all shiny black granite and wood. We love the lustre of Carrara marble, and although it can be a little diva-ish at times, this is far outweighed by its simple, classic beauty.'

Helen adds, 'Used for centuries, Carrara marble was always a tough stone that was used in all kinds of environments, from butchers’ shops to public bathrooms, and much of it is still going strong to this day. Over the years, many of us have become perfectionists, wanting everything to be immaculate and pristine. But marble is not for these kinds of people, it is for people who love to cook and chop and entertain and don’t mind if the marks of life are sometimes left behind as little memories!'

Remember to consider how to clean marble countertops so they continue to shine. Helen explains, 'Lemon juice can etch a marble worktop, turmeric can stain it, and it can scratch, but then so can most things in our home. Why does a worktop have to be more bombproof than anything else? The stains can be removed with the right treatment, and the etches fade, but what you get in return is a cool, soft, slightly translucent material that gives a kitchen something so much more than a manmade product.'

Stanley Tucci's marble countertops are enduringly chic. Balanced with the blue cabinets, it's the ultimate light and dark pairing that feels liveable yet contemporary at the same time.
