After five back-and-forth games, the St. Louis Blues are up 3-2 going into game six at home against Boston tonight. The Blues came out and punched Boston in the mouth in Game 4, but this series has been up-and-down since Game 1. The last few games will be a thrill-ride.

The St. Louis Blues made three straight appearances in the Finals in their first three years of existence (1967-70), losing all three times. Since then, they’ve failed to return to this stage of the playoffs. While the Blues are looking to claim the cup for the first time ever, the Bruins are no strangers to the pressure. Six times the B’s have captured hockey’s greatest prize, the most recent occasion coming in 2011.

Boston should be well-rested and ready to vie for lucky number seven since after making quick work of the Carolina Hurricanes with a sweep in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Blues needed six games to dispatch San Jose in their series.

It’s no secret what the Bruins’ recipe for success will be. While both teams have scored 57 goals so far in the playoffs, Boston has let in 15 fewer goals. Tuukka Rask leads all goaltenders in every major statistical category during the postseason. If a seventh cup is to be brought back to New England, Rask will need to continue his great form.

Meanwhile, left winger Jason Schwartz has been the star man for St. Louis so far with 12 goals and 4 assists. He’s one of only three players to reach double-digits in goals and the only one remaining in the playoffs. If the Blues pull it off, he’s a top contender for the Conn Smythe Trophy.
