Stand-in Livingston skipper Jon Guthrie hails 'positive' result away to Hibernian

Stand-in skipper Jon Guthrie insists a point away from home was a positive result for the Lions as they kept hold of fifth place in the Premiership table.

The former Crewe and Walsall defender also heaped praise on new signing Efe Ambrose, who played to his right in a new-look back three.

He said: “It’s a good point. Any time you go away from home and go a goal down, to come back and get a point is a positive result.

“I think looking at the game it was probably a fair result and we cancelled each other out.”

He added: “The whole formation of the team changes when you move to a back three but with someone with the experience of Efe coming in, it makes it a bit easier than someone who’s not used to that formation.

“He’s a great talker and obviously me and Ciaron (Brown) have played a few games together now so we have that relationship now but it’s something we work on in training.

“Efe’s a massive name in football and especially in Scotland and there’s lots of little tips and advice he can help you with. He’s obviously had a great career and played a lot of games at a very good level.

“It was nice to be captain and a proud moment for me to be leading the boys out. I’ve been captain at previous clubs a few times but this was my first time at Livingston so it was a real honour.”
