Arsenal are back in Premier League action against Everton on Friday night but the match, much like the other games this week, is set to be overshadowed.
The announcement of a European Super League last Sunday, with the Gunners among the six Premier League clubs to sign up, was met with fierce backlash, eventually leading to a U-turn just 48 hours later on Tuesday night.
Damage has been done and the latest sequence of events has ignited the fury of the supporters, which is being directed at the American owners.
'Silent Stan', as he's not-so-affectionately known, is a rare sight in north London and public appearances have instead fallen to his son, Josh, who spoke about the Super League in Thursday's fan forum.
However, any words are unlikely to change the ill-feeling around the club towards the owners that has been present ever since KSE got their grips on the Gunners.
Furious incidents of the past including triggering a complete buyout via a majority share, forcing club-loving fans to sell up, as well as decisions made during last summer's pandemic, like making 55 staff redundant.
A big irritation among fans, however, comes from the feeling that Kroenke is less willing to invest in the club - despite building a multi-million super stadium for NFL franchise the Los Angeles Rams.
That is despite the fact that, according to Forbes, Kroenke is worth a whopping $8.3billion - a figure which puts him as the 59th richest man in the United States and the 135th richest billionaire in the world.
As well as Arsenal, Kroenke owns MLS outfit the Colorado Rapids, NBA franchise the Denver Nuggets and ice hockey team Colorado Avalanche.
Kroenke also owns two professional esports team based in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Gladiators and Los Angeles Guerrillas.
