Stan Kroenke's Arsenal ultimatum as fans send clear message over European Super League shambles

Arsenal supporters are planning to protest against owner Stan Kroenke ahead of their Premier League clash against Everton on Friday evening.

Fans on social media have said the protest is "dedicated to getting Kroenke out of our club" but it is not known at this stage how many will attend.

The club had published an open letter to fans on Tuesday night, which confirmed Arsenal would be leaving the European Super League and apologised for "making a mistake".

The open letter was signed off by 'the Arsenal board' which consists of Kroenke himself, his son Josh, director Lord Harris of Peckham and non-executive director Tim Lewis.

Friday's protest won't be the first time Arsenal supporters have let their feelings known towards the club hierarchy, with the #WeCareDoYou movement taking centre stage in July 2019.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright also called for Kroenke to leave after Arsenal's Super League announcement, tweeting the hashtag '#KroenkeOut' to make his feelings clear.

Fans have previously said that they felt 'more marginalised, less listened to or valued' and criticised what they dubbed a 'passive ownership'.

The Arsenal Supporters' Trust have also called for all costs incurred as a result of the Super League fiasco to be paid by Kroenke himself.

They will get a first opportunity to have their say at a virtual Fans Forum on Thursday evening, with senior officials including Vinai Venkatesham and Edu expected to address supporter concerns over why the club joined the European Super League in the first place.

Manager Mikel Arteta will also hold a pre-match press conference on Thursday morning ahead of the match against Everton.
