Stan Kroenke's Arsenal stance is clear as Daniel Ek prepares £2bn takeover bid

Stan Kroenke will reject 'any new offer' from Spotify CEO Daniel Ek to takeover Arsenal, according to reports.

The Mirror are saying that Ek is preparing to launch a second bid for the Gunners, which is expected to be over £2billion, after a £1.8bn opening offer was rejected by the Kroenkes.

Any second offer is set to have the same end result, the report claims, with Kroenke 's stance expected to remain the same.

Ek has already said he is ready for a long takeover battle, and already has the backing of Arsenal legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira.

The Swedish billionaire is a boyhood Gunners supporter and expressed his interest in buying the club from the controversial American group after the European Super League plans in April.

It emerged that Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United were the six clubs from the Premier League who had agreed to join the 'breakaway' league - something that caused nationwide uproar from professionals, ex-professionals and fans.

Arsenal fans gathered in their thousands outside the Emirates Stadium to express their condemnation of their owners for their actions, with the overriding message clear: "Kroenkes Out".

So when Ek said the following, it caused plenty of excitement amongst the Gunners fan base.

“I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was eight years old,” said Ek.

“I love the history, the players, and of course I love the fans.

“So as I look at that I just see a tremendous opportunity to set a real vision for the club, to bring it back to its glory.

“I want to establish trust with the fans and engage the fans again. So I’m very serious.

“I have secured the funds for it and I want to bring what I think is a very compelling offer to the owners and I hope they hear me out.”
