Devizes property
This two-bedroom end-of-terrace home in Devizes, Wiltshire, is on the market for £167,000 and would have attracted a tax bill of £1,670 before the changes. The property, which has an oil-fired central heating system, boasts a kitchen, utility room, private garden and parking.

SE17 property
Before the threshold was changed, buying this one-bedroom flat in London would have meant paying £1,750 in stamp duty. Now you can land the mansion block property in Elephant & Castle without paying the tax. Which is just as well, as you will need to set aside a few quid to refurbish it, on top of raising the £175,000 purchase price.
