Stamford Hill: Man sought after alleged anti-Semitic attack in north London

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to following an alleged anti-Semitic attack on a 64-year-old man in Stamford Hill on Wednesday.

Officers said the victim had been making his way to his synagogue about 8.30pm when “he was struck in a random assault”. The brutal assault can be seen on CCTV released by police.

The man suffered facial injuries and fell to the ground, breaking his foot. He was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

“The assault is being treated as a hate crime,” a Met Police spokesman said.

Detectives have released an image and footage of a man they need to identify and speak with in connection with the assault.

Anyone who recognises the man, or who witnessed the assault and is yet to speak with officers, is asked to come forward.
