Staggering distance Newcastle fans will have to travel to follow United around Premier League

Newcastle United fans will travel roughly 8,724 miles in order to follow every single Magpies away game this season – and the average supporter will spend £1,758.82 on petrol, more than any other Premier League team.

Research from Green Flag, shows that the travelling Toon faithful will travel more than double what Arsenal fans will this season - with Gunners fans travelling 3,974.69 miles in comparison.

The Magpies shortest trip this season will be to Elland Road against Leeds United - an estimated 190-mile round trip.

The longest trip for Toon fans this season will be down to the south coast to Brighton which is a 652-mile round trip.

The distance and cost won't deter fans who've spent the last 18 months unable to watch their side as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
