A staggering €11.2million in prize money was collected from National Lottery HQ this morning.
The biggest winners were a family syndicate who received their cheque for a life-changing €6,197,310 from Lotto chiefs.
A lucky punter from Co Galway also claimed a cool €4million after scooping the top prize in last weekend's main draw.
Meanwhile a family from Co Offaly is "living a dream" after they secured a €1million jackpot in the Lotto Plus 1 last week.
The €6million top prize in last month's main Lotto draw was collected this morning by a small family syndicate from Co Meath.
One member of the syndicate said: "I heard on the news bulletins that the Lotto had been won and the ticket was sold in the Tesco Extra.
"I felt a shot of adrenaline and checked the ticket and saw that the numbers matched. I couldn’t believe it. I just said to my husband – ‘How would you like to be married to a multi-millionaire?’”
The second prize of the day was claimed by a lucky Galway man, who revealed he spent all night walking around town after discovering he had the winning ticket.
He revealed: “I checked my ticket online pretty late that night and immediately one of the lines on the ticket jumped out at me. I knew I had a few of those numbers and quickly I realised that I had matched all the numbers! I couldn’t believe it.
"I checked the ticket again and again just to be sure but it was an incredible feeling.
"I couldn’t sleep a wink after so I went out and took a walk around our town a few times. My mind was in overdrive.
"I think I walked until it was light out and I waited for the rest of the family to get out of bed so I could tell them the good news.”
Finally members of a small family from Co Offaly were "shaking" as they collected the €1million jackpot they won in last Saturday’s Lotto Plus 1 draw.
A member of the midlands family said: "I cannot believe it. I’m shaking.
“Since I checked the ticket on Saturday night we’ve all been living a dream.
"It really is a dream come true. We are just ordinary working people – this is the last thing I expected life to throw at us!
"You buy your Lotto ticket but you never truly believe – ‘I’m going to win a million quid’. It’s crazy."
