Stagecoach looking to hire trainee bus drivers on £29,000 a year

Stagecoach is currently looking to take on new trainee bus drivers to man their fleet in Liverpool.

Applicants are invited to apply to become a "key worker in their community" as the bus company looks to take on multiple trainees to man their fleet based at their Gillmoss depot. Training will be done in-house, then, once completed, the successful applicants will join the Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire team in Liverpool.

After training, successful applicants can expect to earn a base salary of £29,000. Though, for those willing to work a little extra and take on overtime, there will be ample opportunity to raise that figure.

The roles come with plenty of benefits, including almost a month of holiday time per year and a free travel for the successful applicant, a companion and up to two children. The job description also advertises a range of available discounts on things like hotels and retail outlets, as well as dental insurance and vehicle breakdown cover.

Yet, there are some requirements to pay attention to before submitting an application. Applicants must be over 18 and hold a UK driving license with no more than six penalty points on said license. They must also "want to deliver great customer service" and have a "patient, safe and courteous approach to driving."

The job advert said: "Stagecoach workplace culture is one where everyone can be themselves and where all the differences our people bring to the business are celebrated. We welcome applications from all, irrespective of background, gender, ethnicity, race, religion, beliefs, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation or age."
