Graeme Jones has paid tribute to Newcastle United's 'outstanding' owners for keeping him informed 'at all times' about the club's managerial search.
It is little more than a month now since Newcastle's Saudi-backed takeover was finally completed and Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi were given the contract to run the club.
The new owners decided against making an immediate change in the dugout, but Steve Bruce left the club by mutual consent on October 20.

Graeme Jones has held the fort ahead of Eddie Howe coming in as the club's new manager and the 51-year-old has enjoyed working with Staveley and Ghodoussi these last few weeks.
"Outstanding. Mehrdad and Amanda have been brilliant," he told talkSPORT.
"They've kept me informed at all times. They've been really supportive. I can't ask for any more really."
Jones has taken temporary charge of Newcastle's last three games, against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Brighton, and has already been given assurances about his long-term future.
It remains to be seen what exact role Jones will have in the new set-up but, regardless, the Geordie will never forget that it was Bruce who brought him to the club in the first place back in January.
"Steve's somebody I love," he added. "I respect Steve. I know what went on here with Steve and the club, but I've got my own relationship with him.
"I had a fantastic working relationship so I'm sure I'll catch up with him soon. "
