Staff at Welsh holiday park told to self-isolate after Covid cases discovered

Three cases of coronavirus have been reported at a holiday park in north Wales.

All facilities at Greenacres Holiday Park in Morfa Bychan in Gwynedd remain open despite the Covid-19 cases.

Staff who were working at the area of the park where the cases were recorded are now in self-isolation, NorthWalesLive reports.

No new cases were reported in Gwynedd on Sunday, May 9 and rates are low across Wales.

The Haven-run park has told guests all Covid-19 protocols are being followed, but it has said full refunds will be given to guests who want to cancel their bookings provided they do so at least three days in advance.

A spokesperson for Greenacres said: "We can confirm that we have had three recent cases of Covid-19 at Greenacres.

"On receipt of the news, we took all necessary measures to ensure that any risk was minimised straight away. All of these team members are isolating, and as a precaution we have isolated other team members in accordance with NHS Track and Trace guidelines.

"The safety of our guests, owners and team remains our number one and we are working closely with the local environmental health team.

"All facilities remain open on park as normal.

"We understand that this may be unsettling for our guests and owners but would like to reassure them that our park remains safe and operational with strictly followed protocols covering hygiene, social distancing and PPE firmly in place.

"Should future guests have any concerns about their upcoming breaks, they will be covered by our Coronavirus Book with Confidence Guarantee which allows them to cancel their break up to three days ahead of arrival should it be affected by coronavirus and receive a full refund."
