A group of Activision Blizzard employees have announced their plans to initiate a labor strike against the company.
The group in question, known as the ABK Workers Alliance, shared a statement regarding a planned work stoppage until Activision Blizzard meets their demands.
“Today, the ABK Worker’s Alliance announces the initiation of its strike,” the group said on Twitter. “We encourage our peers in the Game Industry to stand with us in creating lasting change. For those who wish to join in solidarity, please consider donating to our Strike Fund.”
A Gofundme page accompanied the announcement, allowing anyone to provide financial donations so that the ABK Workers Alliance may proceed with the labor strike. The ABK Strike fund has already received more than $40,000 from hundreds of supporters as of this post with the final funding goal set at $1 million.

The fundraiser also directly mentions Raven Software, one of Activision Blizzard’s internal studios that received layoffs last week. On Wednesday, a current Blizzard employee held a press conference outside of the company’s headquarters alleging the workplace is an “alcohol-soaked culture of sexual harassment.”
If the strike goes forward, it will be only the latest walkout staged by Activision Blizzard employees. The company has pledged to eliminate harassment by way of a new workplace committee. However, several long-time Activision Blizzard board members are on the committee, so the announcement garnered heavy criticism.
