We are officially in the doldrums of late spring and early summer. That means we are smack dab in the offseason of both college football and basketball. The NFL draft is over and so is spring ball, so there’s not a whole lot of shiny objects out there for us to fix our eyes on.
But the offseason also means several predictions and projections of what could occur next season. That of course means football, but also college basketball, and the latest comes from Stadium’s Jeff Goodman who released a way-too-early-top-25 for the 2021-2022 season.
Ohio State has been getting a lot of love from the mainstream media when it comes to next season, but there are some unknowns that still have to be ironed out. Still, that didn’t stop Goodman from falling in line as well and picking the Buckeyes to be one of the elite teams.

No. 3 – Ohio State

What Goodman Says about Ohio State
“As long as Liddell and Washington return to Columbus, this is a group that should be among the preseason favorites. Chris Holtmann will need to find a replacement for Walker, but he’s hoping maybe Johnson can fill that role. He also has no shortage of veterans that were a part of a team that earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tourney.”
We can live with that. The problem of course is that the Buckeyes will be a far different team if it doesn’t get Washington and Liddell back. Add that to some new faces and there’s still a question of where all the parts will fit and if they jell together.
Still, it’s another national analyst that believes in what Chris Holtmann is building and it should give everyone a good feeling about what next year holds.
