Stacie Mackay: Edinburgh police race to trace missing woman amid concerns over welfare

Police are appealing for information in their efforts to trace a woman missing from Niddrie for more than a week amid growing concerns over her welfare.

Stacie Mackay was officially reported missing from her home in Hay Avenue on Sunday, April 4 but was last seen more than seven days ago.

She has not contacted friends or family members in that time and officers in Craigmillar are now working to determine her whereabouts.

They have asked any members of the public from across Edinburgh to come forward and share information if they recall seeing Stacie since the end of March.

The 37-year-old is described as being around 5’8, with a slim build and brown hair.

Inspector Willie Falconer, of Craigmillar Police Station said: "We are concerned for Stacie given the last confirmed sighting of her is now more than a week ago.

"We would urge anyone who has seen her to get in touch as soon as they can. If Stacie herself sees this then please call us. We just want to ensure you are safe and well."

Inspector Falconer added: "Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 3335 of 4 April."
