Stacey Solomon to host home improvement TV series as she lands lucrative BBC gig

Loose Women favourite Stacey Solomon has been poached by BBC bosses to front her own lifestyle and home improvement series.

The mum-of-three will help inspire viewers to spring clean when she takes six families on a week-long mission to declutter their homes on new programme Sort Your Life Out.

Essex-born Stacey, 31, has four million social media followers largely thanks to the household tips and upcycling hacks she posts.

She told the Mirror: "There's always that one room or cupboard I can't face sorting out at home but once I've done it there's nothing more satisfying.

"I'll be sharing my ultimate tidying and upcycling tips, from Lazy Susans to tension rods, there'll be lots of great ideas to give viewers the confidence to finally tackle that cupboard."

The series will also feature a team of helpers, including home organiser Dilly Carter, carpenter and upcycler Robert Bent and cleaning expert Iwan Carrington.

The families will strip their homes bare and lay out all their possessions in a warehouse before being encouraged to dispose of “thousands” of items.

Emotions run high as they decide what to keep and what to recycle, donate or sell.

A pilot will air this spring with the six-part programme to follow later in the year.

BBC commissioning editor Emily Smith said: "We're so excited for this series with Stacey and her team.

"It's amazing what they can do to turn homes around without having to spend loads."

Stacey found fame on The X Factor in 2009 and joined Loose Women in 2016.

She will remain as a panellist on the ITV daytime show despite landing her first major BBC gig.
