Stacey Solomon thanks NHS as Rex has lip operation in hospital

Stacey Solomon has posted a gushing tribute to the NHS after her youngest son Rex had an operation in hospital.

Rex, two, had to have his lip stitched after suffering an accident at the family home "Pickle Cottage".

Stacey and her partner Joe Swash rushed Rex to hospital after it became clear that he'd cut his lip after a fall and he was patched up with butterfly stitches.

But because the cut was in an awkward place doctors told Stacey to bring Rex back in so they could stitch his lip properly.

Loose Woman Stacey stayed last night with Rex in hospital sharing the journey with her 4.5m followers and showing them what she'd packed for their overnight stay.

As Rex was having the procedure Stacey watched Notting Hill and ate a jacket potato, while trying not to worry about her son.

Following Rex's procedure Stacey posted a touching photo of her hand in his as he wore a hospital gown.

Stacey captioned it: "I got my pickle back....Love you all to the moon and back."

She then shared a photo of herself beaming as Rex lay in her arms sleeping.

The mum-of-three praised the NHS for taking care of her boy as she said: "Everything went so well, we will be back home soon, thank you for your lovely kind messages.

"Thank you to everyone here at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, from giving birth here to fixing the pickles your staff and everyone who works so hard in your trust have always been so amazing.

"And I know first hand how busy and hard worked you all are. So grateful to our NHS always and forever.

"Thank you for all that you do, you're so incredible and we are so lucky to have you."
