Stacey Solomon has thanked the England team for giving the country so many good memories after their incredible Euro 2021 run.
Football sadly isn’t coming home, after the England suffered a devastating defeat in a penalty shoot out against Italy, in the UEFA 2020 European Football Championship final at Wembley Stadium last night.
Celebrities including Stacey were sharing their support on social media during the historic final.
During the match, Stacey shared a photo on Instagram of her family watching the final on a big screen in their garden, with the caption “I made it home right in time to see England coming home.”
Stacey later shared her thanks to the team on social media for their hard work and efforts throughout the tournament, which has created lasting memories for fans.

After England’s devastating defeat, she posted a photo on Instagram of the tv screen showing the England team together with a message of thanks to Gareth Southgate and the team, saying:
“Just wanted to say...thank you to the England Team for giving our family so many exciting memories.
“It’s been exciting to watch and although we are gutted for you all, you’ve been amazing.”

This is a sentiment shared by celebrities including Adele, who celebrated how England had brought everyone together during the tournament.
Writing on Instagram, Adele added: “You did us so proud! You brought our game home and brought us all together.”
Luke Shaw scored within the first two minutes of the final, building hopes that England could win the championship after reaching their first major tournament final for 55 years.
However, following a goal by Italy’s Leonardo Bonnuci in the 67th minute, an equal score led to a tie and extra time.
The final ended in a penalty shoot out, with Harry Kane and Harry Maguire scoring the first goals.
However, it wasn’t enough to stop Italy securing a 3-2 defeat in the penalty shoot out, ending the historic journey that England have been through this Summer on their UEFA 2020 European Football Championship journey.
