Beauty salons are among the unessential businesses that have been told to close under the coronavirus Covid-19 lockdown, in a bid to protect staff, customers and stop the spread of the deadly disease.
While the majority of people are just embracing the natural look, others have decided to have a go themselves - including Stacey Solomon.
The Loose Women star is among the many women who have taken matters into their own hands - excuse the pun - and tried to give themselves a salon-worthy manicure.
But things didn't quite go to plan, and after three hours of hard work Stacey admitted the process left her in tears.
She shared her process to her Instagram stories for her 3.1 million followers to see.
She started off by showing everyone what her nails looked like before the manicure - with grown out gels, chipped green polish and one nail missing polish altogether.
And said: "I am receiving a high volume of messages regarding my nail situation. Sexy".
Stacey revealed that she had her own kit at home which meant she didn't have to wait until lockdown was over to get a manicure done at the salon.
She said: “Don’t worry I have some nail bits from when I thought I’d become a nail technician so I’ll give myself a spa day tomorrow and try to save the talons.”
Stacey shared the final results of the “three hours of acetone, filing, sweat and tears” - but they weren't exactly salon quality.
To replace her chipped green tips, she opted for a white gel varnish - but she didn't seem too happy with the final results.
She said: "Erm done. I think I’m laughing but I’m not 100% sure that I’m not crying".
Later that day, Stacey said that everyone had been messaging her to say they preferred the green polish she had on before all of the time and effort she spent primping and polishing her nails.
She joked: "So did I Sally, but there is nothing I can do about it now as I’ve ran out of acetone and this [showing her nails] is like actual cement".
