Stacey Solomon shares heartwarming 'emotional mummy' tribute for son's birthday

Stacey Solomon threw an extravagant birthday bash as her son turned two.

The Moana-themed birthday bonanza for little Rex featured balloons, ponies and an epic cake.

The singer-turned-presenter shared the build-up to her son's big day with her Instagram followers on Sunday and could be seen blowing up a number of balloons to create an arch in front of the windows.

She also saved on spends by using her sister Gemma's ocean decorations from a previous party.

The mum-of-three also enlisted the help of her other children, Zach, 13, and Leighton, nine, to make sure the decor was up to scratch.

The telly star, 31, explained to her followers that it had been a "crazy morning".

Then, husband Joe Swash transformed himself into a shiny crab costume covered in glitter to surprise his son with.

And as the dust settled on the day and the kids were in bed, Stacey shared an emotional message on her Instagram Stories.

She shared an array of pics and videos of Rex from birth to now while Bird's Wing song played in the background and was clearly bursting with pride.

Alongside the story, she wrote: "Warning. Risiculously [sic] over emotional mummy who's been going through her old photos while watching her 2 year old (cries some more) sleeping...

She continued: "We have loved every second of you and your joyful, kind, cuddly, lovely, thoughtful spirit. You are a special little human with so much love to give.

"We are so lucky to have you pickle..."

She had earlier posted a message on her main Instagram page saying she hoped he had "the bestest day ever".

In a similar message, she gushed about her youngest son bringing happiness into the family's life and joked that "mummy will keep working on her costume skills as you grow".

She went on to ask the years to "start slowing down" and thanked everyone for their well wishes.
