Stacey Solomon's son Rex, 2, rushed back to hospital just days after surgery

Stacey Solomon has shared her fears after her son Rex was rushed back to hospital on Thursday night, just days after he had surgery.

The two-year-old suffered a "nightmare" fall last weekend and needed stitches, before he had to have an operation on Tuesday.

And last night, Stacey, 31, revealed that she had to take him back in after his temperature spiked.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the mum-of-three told her 4.5 million followers that it had been the "longest, most emotional week".

She shared a picture of herself looking exhausted, wearing a face mask and just one fake eyelash, as Rex, who she shares with Joe Swash, cuddled up to her chest.

"Aw guys..." Stacey captioned the photo, adding two sad face emojis. "We are back in triage because Rex's temperature has been spiking tonight.

"They're sure it's all OK but because he's little and post op they won't take any risks, so looks like we are in for the long haul tonight.

"It's been the longest, most emotional week."

"I honestly don't know how I've even got one eyelash still on," she finished the post, adding laughing and crying emois.

Stacey hasn't posted about Rex since she shared the photo.

Last Sunday, Rex suffered a nasty fall in the garden of the family's mansion, Pickle Cottage.

His mum initially thought it was nothing serious, but then had to rush him to hospital after realising he'd injured his face.

Rex had temporary stitches and was in and out of hospital for a few days before he had surgery on Tuesday.

The toddler appeared to be recovering well, and Stacey shared photos of him playing in the garden on his scooter just hours after his operation.

On Wednesday, she shared a post saying he'd been really brave and kept his stitches in after his operation.

Stacey posted a video of him smiling and laughing as they played together.

She said on her Instagram Stories: "Rex is doing so well with his stitches.

"One more day of the steri-strips holding the proper stitches in place and then I can let him peel them off for good and just let the stitches be free.

"He's been such a good boy.

"I can tell they're bugging him but he just gets on with it and lets me re-stick them and everything.

"I'm so proud of you pickle."

"Today I'm going to try and rest up," Stacey continued, adding a laughing emoji. "I feel more traumatised than Rex for this week."
