Stacey Solomon's youngest boy, Rex, celebrated his second birthday yesterday and his mum, 31 and dad Joe Swash gave their son a day to remember.
The theme was Moana, based on the 2016 Disney musical in which the determined little Polynesian girl of the title goes on a quest to find a demigod called Maui.
In the movie, that role is played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson., but yesterday Little Rex was dressed as Maui, in a bodysuit that made him look like he had ancient tattoos.
On her journey, Moana meets a giant crab called Tamatoa, who craves everything shiny. And that’s where Rex's dad Joe, 38, came in.
The former actor squeezed himself into a purple bodysuit, which was so revealing that Stacey had censored it on previous Instagram stories and laughingly said it wasn’t appropriate for a toddler’s party.
She also sewed on crab legs and a grass skirt, revealing that the shell was just "our bin lid covered in glitter".
In Stacey’s Instagram stories, her 4.4 million followers were treated to the sight of Joe standing outside in just the suit complaining:”
“This isn’t my idea of a shell! C’mon, it’s freezing out here!”
Once he was inside however, Stacey joked: "I think it’s safe to say Joe fully embraced it. He was living his best crab life.”
Stacey’s eldest son Zachary, aged 13, was dressed up as Moana, but Stacey promised that . “Zach wanted to be Moana, honestly. Rex is so confused”
Their new £1.5 million Essex home had been transformed into a party space, with red, pink and green balloons everywhere, and a glittering blue ocean for Joe to ‘swim’ in.
The birthday boy opened his presents including his first remote-controlled car and looked at his amazing themed cake. Rex can been clearly heard saying "Crab!"
The Loose Women star, 31 continued: “Rex knew exactly who his cake crab was. This cake was soooo beautiful and tasted delicious. The amazing lady who makes them is so so talented. Should have asked her to make Joe’s costume!”
After all that excitement, his mum put Rex down for a nap. When he woke up, there were even more surprises.
Stacey revealed: “Because he loves animals so much mine and Joe’s birthday present was for Rexy to meet some ponies. So we are in the garden and Rex is feeding them all of our carrots”
The animals were in their garden, where the couple plan to get married later this year.
Rex, dressed in denim jacket and riding hat, seemed overjoyed as he sat on the pony’s back. And it looked like his big brother Zach was loving the experience too, burying his face in the pony’s neck and mane.
Stacey said: “OMG That was so special. Why are ponies so emotional?”
After their spectacular day, Stacey wrote a gushing tribute to her family, saying:
“Happy Birthday Pickle. Oh baby boy, we hope you’ve had the bestest day ever. My animal loving little Maui. How are you two years old already...
"Watching you grow every day, learn and develops into such a special human alongside your brothers is our biggest privilege. Every day your smile and joy just keeps us going. Mummy will keep working on her costume skills as you grow I promise."
She then referenced her blended family which includes her older sons Zach and Leighton, nine, and Joe’s son Harry, 14, from a previous relationship. The couple also have several pets.
She went on: “Rex you bring so much happiness into our lives every day... Zachy, Leighton, Harry, Theo, Peanut, Meowiii, Daddy and Mummy love you all the way to the moon and stars and back again. Always. Can the years start slowing down now please?"
Finally, she sent an emotional message to all her online fans: “Thank you everyone for your beautiful messages, stories and posts, they’ve had me ready all day. We love you all so so much.”
And now the planning starts for when their little lad turns three...
