Stacey Solomon replaced after just one season of Channel 4 baking show

After just one season of presenting a popular Channel 4 show, Stacey Solomon has been replaced. The 33 year old Loose Women star hosted Bake Off: The Professionals alongside former Great British Bake Off contestant Liam Charles.

However, it has been announced that Stacey, who gave birth to daughter Belle earlier this year, will not be fronting the next series and that the new co-presenter will be Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor reports The Daily Mirror.

A tweet announcing the news shared a photo of comedian Ellie, 39, posing with a cake while she is joined by Liam, 25, and judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden. The post stated: "From Ted Lasso to tiramisu - we’re delighted to welcome @EllieJaneTaylor as our new co-host on Bake Off: The Professionals alongside @LiamcBakes

"Pastry chefs beware - judges @BenoitBlin_MCA & @Cherish_Finden are also back for pud! The new series arrives on @Channel4 this summer".

The announcement comes after Ellie appeared on the celebrity edition of Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer. The show did not address Stacey's departure from the show, or her reasons for not returning as co-host this season leaving fans to wonder why Stacey wasn't coming back.

One wrote: "Ellie is fabulous, she will be great with Liam. Has Stacey left or did she take maternity leave I wonder?" Stacey went on maternity leave after giving birth to daughter Belle in February this year, and in April, the star revealed she was back to work and heading to Paris for a business trip with her daughters Belle and Rose

Speaking on her Instagram story at the time, Stacey told her followers: "I’ve got my first job back next week so I just really want to get into good habits so it’s easier. I’ve got my first day back next week, and it’s like the craziest job ever. I’m going to Paris. What the hell!"

The TV star also recently released a new clothing range with In The Style, and in April Stacey also announced more huge career news as she shared a photo of her children in matching outfits. She said: "Forever Proud,

"It honestly gives me goosebumps every time I get the chance to make a collection and then see it in real life on the pickles. @Primark AD is my home and making these collections is a dream come true.

"As always the pickles had a big input into the colours and designs and they LOVED the oranges this year! I think this Spring Summer collection might be my favourite one EVER.

"Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the love, kindness & support you have shown my Primark ranges, without you I would never have had the chance to do it all again."
