Stacey Solomon 'regrets doing reality show with Joe Swash' for tough reason

Stacey Solomon reportedly regrets doing a reality show about her family life with Joe Swash and their children.

The TV personality, 35, and her husband Swash, 42, have invited cameras into their home, Pickle Cottage, for a candid look at their private lives in the BBC series, Stacey & Joe.

The show follows the couple juggling work commitments with raising their children Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two, and Stacey's sons Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 12, from previous relationships.

Solomon and Swash have been open about sharing their problems with viewers, with one episode showing their couples counselling session and another seeing Swash struggle with his ADHD diagnosis.

Some viewers have called Swash a “liability” after an episode saw him leave Solomon in the lurch after returning from a fishing trip five hours late while she attempted to conduct a business meeting at home and deal with her crying kids.

Amid the negative reaction, Solomon is reportedly having second thoughts about agreeing to do the show and fears she’s coming across “too bossy”.

“Stacey is regretting signing up to do the show. She’s not used to the backlash they are getting as everything she touches normally turns to gold,” a source told The Sun.

The insider claimed Solomon is worried about how she and Swash are coming across to viewers in their arguments, with her love of organisation clashing with his time management issues and ADHD struggles.

“She feels like she is coming across as bossy. He can’t manage anything without her, so she is forced to be the ‘grown up’. It’s caused friction,” the source said.

The Standard has contacted Solomon and Swash’s representatives for comment.

Last month, Stacey & Joe viewers called out Swash for messing up her business meeting by being late to look after their kids.

When Swash finally appeared, he tried to blame an accident on the road, causing him to be 20 minutes late. She was having none of it and pointed out he was actually five hours late.

Many flocked to social media to share their concerns for the former Loose Women panelist.

“How does Stacey Solomon put up with Joe Swash? He’s an absolute liability,” declared one person.

“It’s a minor miracle that Stacey Solomon hasn’t murdered Joe Swash by now,” agreed another.

Last week, Swash admitted he feels like a “huge problem” in Solomon’s “perfect” life during a joint therapy session.

The former EastEnders actor opened up about living with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). According to the NHS, it is a condition where the brain works differently to most people and prompts difficulty with things like concentrating and sitting still.

Solomon told the counsellor: “I understand Joe's frustration, because he is putting a lot of effort in. Like, I would say 'Joe I really need help with this, this, and this. I'm really struggling.'

“And Joe hears that and he wants to support me but he'll do other things that aren't the stuff I'm asking him.

“He gets frustrated because he has worked hard and he has put the effort in. But you haven't done the things I'm directly asking you for. So I've still got to manage those on my own.

“You're a great dad and an amazing person, but sometimes I don't think you take into consideration all the fires I've got to put out everywhere.”

Visibly upset, Swash responded: “I don't even know what to say. It's so frustrating, when all I feel like I'm doing is trying to dedicate myself to my family and do everything I possibly can, every minute of the day. And then to sit here and listen to the fact that I'm a huge problem...”

The therapist gently interrupted to ask, “But nobody is saying that. Is that what you hear?”

“All that I'm hearing is that I'm this huge problem in Stacey's perfect life. That's all I'm hearing. I don't hear no positive stuff about me as a person,” he replied.
