Stacey Solomon opens 'village lido' in garden as schools shut due to heatwave

Stacey Solomon kindly opened the doors of her home to local kids after high temperatures forced schools to close.

The mum of four has been working hard in recent months to ensure that her swimming pool in her £1.2m Pickle Cottage home was ready for summer. Her own kids - Rex, Rose, Leighton and Zachary - have all been enjoying cooling down in the pool.

But now, in a kind act, she has welcomed other local kids to come and cool off in her 'village lido' too. The star, 32, took to her Instagram to share a sweet snap of her enjoying an ice cold drink while the local kids enjoyed the pool.

She wrote: "All the boys schools got cancelled this morning because of the heat. So we welcomed all the kids to pickle cottage pool. It's been a crazzzzyyy day in what has turned into the village lido. I hope you're all ok in this heat."

Stacey and her fiance Joe Swash have been making the most of the home's impressive feature at temperatures in the UK have soared to 40C. On Monday, she shared an image of her kids having an early morning splash in the pool.

She wrote: "Good morning. I've got work later and the boys have got school so we got up bright and early this morning to have some pool time. Feel so so lucky & grateful to have the pool. Especially in this weather. Hope you are ok today it's going to be so hot in some places to look after yourself and the fur babies love you lots."

The TV personality has previously opened up after suffering with imposter syndrome. She has also vowed to 'never take anything for granted'.

When waiting for her pool to be ready to use, she shared an image of her and one of her sons, Leighton, sat on the edge of it waiting for it to be filled. She wrote: "Me and Leighton are just sitting in the pool pretending it's filled. I'm actually so excited, I can't believe it. We're going to have a pool one day." She added: "I’ll never take anything for granted and I will always be forever grateful."
