Stacey Solomon jokes she 'looks like Miss Trunchbull' as she asks fans for help

Stacey Solomon had fans cracking up as she compared herself to Matilda's Miss Trunchbull as she asked followers how to achieve the so-called "newborn fresh" look.

The 33-year-old star welcomed baby Belle earlier this month with husband Joe Swash, just weeks after making a surprise pregnancy announcement to fans. Stacey has shared regular updates on Instagram about her first weeks with her new daughter - and the most recent one saw her plead for help as she suffered a hairstyle mishap, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Taking to her Instagram Stories to ask her followers for advice, the mum-of-five said: "I just need to know the answer to this because it's bugging me. I've scraped my hair back into a bun today because I keep seeing people do it."

Comparing herself to Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague, who recently welcomed her first child, Stacey explained: "I've seen Molly-Mae do it and she looks so beautiful. I call it newborn fresh. Like, you've got a newborn so you just scrape your hair back and chuck it in a bun and you just look really pretty and natural and it pulls all your face back. Beautiful."

Unveiling her own hair scraped back into a bun, the star couldn't help laughing as she asked: "Why when I do it do I look like Miss Trunchbull? Why? Why don't I look like newborn fresh like Molly-Mae?"

Stacey showed off the mixed results of following advice from her Instagram followers (Instagram/staceysolomon)

"I look like I'm going to shove my newborn into a chokie," Stacey joked. "Why doesn't it suit me? Is it my face? Is it because I've got a long face? I just need to know."

Amused fans were quick to offer their hair styling tips, and Stacey later shared the mixed results in a series of snaps. Responding to someone who advised her to wear her bun lower, she said: "This one meant you couldn't see any of my hair so it just makes me look like a small boy."

And when another follower told her to put a parting in the front, she hilariously answered: "This one was the most shocking - I look like I'm off to Eton or I'm about to be left Home Alone."

When someone else suggested that the key to looking like Molly Mae may simply be washing her hair, Stacey responded with a laughing emoji: "I think this is my only option! I'm washing it tomorrow."
