Stacey Solomon emotional as son Rex has surgery after horror fall

Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has given a moving insight into her son Rex's hospital stay after he suffered a horror fall.

Stacey, 31, held a vigil with two-year-old Rex after he hurt his lip at the family home Pickle Cottage.

Her youngest son had to have an operation after the accident and his former X Factor singer mum kept fans informed via Instagram Stories as he went in for his op.

She packed Rex's favourite things as well as a trailing plant to add a touch of home to his hospital room.

Pregnant Stacey, who had revealed she was expecting for the fourth time just earlier, soothed herself with a cup of tea as she watched over Rex.

She shared a snap of herself watching Disney's Moana, Rex's favourite film, on an iPad.

One photo showed Rex dressed in a tiny hospital gown wearing a hospital bracelet as he was comforted by his giant cuddly bunny.

"He's gone in, " Stacey wrote as he went in for surgery, adding a wide-eyed emoji.

"Thinking of all the mummies, daddies and carers and extremely brave pickles who have to do this all of the time."

"It's not nice at all," she added.

"You're amazing, honestly, you really are."

And in a moving message to Rex she wrote: "Can't wait to see you soon bubba."

The ITV chat show panellist later shared a joyous photo of herself cradling her boy.

"Everything went so well. We will be back home soon," she updated.

"Thank you for your lovely kind messages."

Thanking the hospital for fixing her 'pickles', her affectionate nickname for her three sons, she said: "I know first hand how busy you all are."

Stacey explained the accident and said that she and fiance Joe Swash had realised it was not an 'up you get situation.'

"He hurt his lip so we took him to A&E and he got some butterfly stitches put on," she said.

The toddler had to keep his temporary stitches in while he waited for surgery.

"But he was so good," Stacey said of her son. "He didn't make a sound. He was like, 'yeah, fix it' to the doctor. He was so good."
