Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash sing together on 'bucket list' date night after wedding

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash enjoyed an emotional night out as newly weds over the weekend.

The recently-married couple headed to a Simply Red concert on Sunday night, and the Loose Women presenter has since revealed the poignant reason why she and her new husband picked Mick Hucknall's band's gig for their date night.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday night [August 9], mum-of-four Stacey told her loyal followers how much she and the former EastEnders actor were enjoying crossing things off their bucket list as they honeymoon close to home.

Following their wedding at their Essex home, Pickle Cottage, last month, the two stars are enjoying a "homeymoon" this summer with the kids being off school.

"We are calling it a 'homeymoon' because we just wanted to spend it at home with all the kids all summer," Stacey explained to her fans last week.

"We're always one in one out and all over the place. So this time at home is just all we could have dreamed of."

On Sunday night, the happy couple sang along to Simply Red's iconic hit songs outside Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire as they ticked off another thing on their bucket list.

Sharing a clip of herself and Joe singing along to the band's performance of their 1991 smash-hit Stars, Stacey shared with her followers just how much the British soul and pop band mean to her new husband.

"When Joe was younger his mum and dad used to take him in the caravan and sing Simply Red all the way there," Stacey confessed on his Instagram Stories.

"This is one of his favourite memories of being little with his dad. So it was the most special night.

Joe Swash sadly lost his father suddenly when he was just just 11-years-old. The dad-of-three had been the one to call 999 when dad Ricky was found unconscious in their family home.

"It was so traumatic because he seemed really healthy. He was slim and ran three times a week. He’d done a half marathon," Joe previously recalled on an ITV documentary.

"Looking back there was a little warning sign when he blacked out as he was bending down to put his socks on but nothing to suggest he was going to have a heart attack."

Ricky had been living with an undiagnosed heart condition - Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).

Joe added: "It was a ticking time bomb and he could have died at any time.

"I take some comfort that I had 11 years with him which were brilliant. He turned me into the man I am now. I feel he is still here with us.

"We really had the perfect family life. I played football with my dad and we were very close. He was a lovely man and the whole street came to a standstill after he died."

Joe and Stacey's wedding on July 25 referenced their loved ones who sadly couldn't be there on their special day, in particular Joe's father.

Sharing their first official wedding snaps on Instagram, Stacey revealed their hope for the pictures to raise funds for others impacted by bereavement during their childhood.

"Joe lost his father at the age of 11 and so did my dad. A huge part of our wedding day was reflecting on how this had a huge effect on them and how hard it is, even to this day to deal with," the bride explained to her followers.

"We have copyrighted all these photos. We ask for all media who wish to use them on their own platforms to lawfully do the right thing by asking permission from the photographer.

"They will in turn give permission for them to be used as long as the media outlets using them make a donation to a charity that supports bereaved children."

Stacey finished by telling her 5.3 million followers: "These memories are so special to us and it would mean the absolute world to us if they made a difference to children growing up with the loss and heartache that my father and my husband did. Thank you for respecting our wishes, lots of love Mr & Mrs Solomon-Swash."

Stacey and Joe first met in Australia thanks to reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Following their friendship eventually blossoming into a romance, the two stars welcomed son Rex into the world together in 2019 - with Joe popping the question a delighted Stacey on Christmas Eve the following year.
