Stacey Dooley to leave Kevin Clifton behind and move into convert 'full of nuns'

She has already ruled out marriage… now presenter Stacey Dooley is going to live in a convent.

But her boyfriend, former Strictly pro Kevin Clifton, doesn’t need to worry – it’s all for a new film.

Stacey has been getting ready to launch series two of W’s Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over which sees her travel around the UK meeting interesting people and staying at their houses for weekends.

Now, for her next film project, she wants to draw back the veil on the world of nuns and experience life in a religious order where you are cut off from the modern world outside.

The idea for her new film project was born from Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over (UKTV)

Explaining her new venture during a virtual BAFTA Q&A, Stacey, 34, says: “Alice [Bowden, executive producer] and I are reunited and we’re doing a film in a convent. So this was borne out of [Stacey Dooley] Sleeps Over actually because I really wanted to go and live with some nuns.

“But we’re thinking, ‘Well, is that a family dynamic or is that a different idea?’

“So, yeah, different idea and I really can’t wait.”

Stacey has been a constant on our TV screens of late after popping up in the Bake Off big tent, where she made a biscuit tribute to Gloria Estefan. She’s also hosting new BBC One series, This Is My House.

The 2018 Strictly Come Dancing winner lives with Kevin, and recently joked she would not wed the three-times-married dancer.

“I can’t think of anything worse than being a tradwife,” she says. “I would be useless, completely and utterly useless. He’d divorce me in a heartbeat.

“I don’t think I want to get married. I think I’d be more interested in starting a family than getting married…

“The life I’ve chosen, I can do as I please. I appreciate that probably sounds very selfish.”

Stacey also tells the BAFTA summit that life with Kevin is “mundane”.

She says: “And then I go back to my house. The telly is on, I have a cup of tea, you know… Kev’s asleep on the sofa, the washing ain’t been done – it’s all very, very, very mundane.”

Your new film will come nun too soon, Stacey…

Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over is on W Channel on Monday at 10pm.
