Stacey Dooley is 'back and forth' when thinking about kids with Strictly's Kevin Clifton

Stacey Dooley has opened up about potentially starting a family with her boyfriend and former Strictly Come Dancing partner Kevin Clifton.

The 32-year-old documentary filmmaker made he revelation as she discussed plans for the future and admitted she is worried about having kids.

Speaking about the topic on the Hosting Laura Jackson podcast, Stacey admitted her experiences reporting on some dark issues from around the world have made her think twice about motherhood.

"I’m sort of back and forth,” she said about having kids.

“I love the idea of having a gang, a unit, an 'us against the world. I love all that. And I would love to take care of someone.

“But I’m also quite morbid and because I’ve seen so much s**t, I think what am I bringing them into?"

Stacey has reported on everything from mothers selling their children into the sex trade, bounty hunters and arms dealers on a hit TV show.

Despite being unsure about what the future holds, the investigative journalist also had nothing but praise for her boyfriend Kevin, 37, who she believes will be an ‘amazing father’.

The usually coy star explained that her partner is simply ‘the kindest’.

"He is an angel. He is the kindest man I’ve met. His temperament is very chilled and he would be an amazing father."

The doting couple, who won Strictly Come Dancing together in 2018, officially began dating in April 2019 but have kept relatively quiet about their relationship - despite falling victim to the Strictly ‘curse’.

Since going public with their relationship, Stacey is believed to have moved out of her Brighton home which she shared with a former partner Sam and into Kevin’s flat.

In a rare display on social media, earlier this month Kevin, who was previously married to fellow Strictly star Karen Clifton, also proudly gushed about their happy relationship.

“My girl came to me in The Wedding Singer last night @sjdooley," he captioned the adorable shot.

In the image, posted just a day before Valentine’s day, the loved-up couple gaze into each other’s eyes and embrace following Kevin’s show.
