Stacey Dooley falls victim to Strictly curse and SPLITS from long-term boyfriend

Stacey Dooley has split from her boyfriend of three years Sam Tucknott, as the infamous Strictly Come Dancing curse takes another victim.

The TV presenter is now the fourteenth celebrity to break-up with her partner after appearing on the popular BBC dance show.

Popular Stacey, 36, took home the glitterball trophy along with professional dancer Kevin Clifton and landed her own reality series on the back of her appearance.

But while Stacey's career has gone from strength to strength, her relationship with personal trainer Sam became increasingly strained, according to sources.

A source close to the Strictly champ revealed: "Stacey confided in her friends that she was struggling to hold down her romance with Sam because her life has been a whirlwind after Strictly.

"She barely saw [Sam] during the month-long tour and has gone straight back into filming documentaries and has been travelling all over the world.

"Their lives have just gone in different directions," they told The Sun.

During Stacey's time on Strictly last year, it was reported that tensions were arising in her relationship with Sam.

It was even alleged that Sam was becoming increasingly jealous of Stacey's close relationship with her pro dancer partner Kevin Clifton.

As the rumours swirled Stacey took to Instagram to pay tribute to Sam, 30, and thank him for his support and patience.

"Love you sweetheart," she told him, adding: "Forever grateful for your patience.”

But despite the show of solidarity, it was claimed personal trainer Sam struggled to cope when Stacey was away touring with the show at the start of this year.

The gruelling schedule saw the award-winning presenting travelling across the country to perform to fans nightly.

What Strictly curse? The couples who are still in love after meeting on the show

Since the first series in 2004, Strictly has become as much known for its multitude of relationship scandals as its dance routines.

Stacey and Sam are by no means the first couple to call it quits shortly after the show.

They join the likes of Louise and Jamie Redknapp, Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice and professional dance couple Kevin and Karen Clifton.

However, there have been some success stories over the years.

Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez announced last month that they are expecting a baby together after meeting on the show.
