Stacey Dooley 'desperate to get engaged' to Kevin Clifton before next series of Strictly

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton have only been together a matter of months, but they're said to be taking the next step in their relationship.

The documentary maker, 32, is reportedly desperate to get engaged to the professional dancer, 36, before he appears on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing .

It's claimed Stacey wants a ring to put her mind at ease in light of the so-called 'Strictly curse'.

A source told Heat magazine: "Stacey would be lying if she hasn't considered that it might strike again with Kevin. He's quite flirtatious and she's been left wondering whether it could happen to her.

"He may have been been married before, but she's keen to lock things down if he gets signed up for Strictly again. She'd at least feel more comfortable if they were officially engaged by then."

While Stacey's family have warned her to take it slow, thrice-married Kevin is reportedly keen to walk up the aisle once again.

The insider added: "Kevin's a very impulsive, passionate person — he'd marry Stacey in a heartbeat."

Stacey and Kevin sparked engagement rumours when she appeared to be wearing what might have been an engagement ring earlier this month.

She has apparently been living with Kev at his South East London flat in between jobs.

The couple fell for each other after being partnered on Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

Their romance attracted criticism from Stacey's ex, Sam Tucknott, who accused Kevin of stealing his girlfriend from under his nose.

Sam supported Stacey from the audience each week as she performed intimate routines with Kevin, and branded the Strictly pro a 'snake'.

There was subsequent talk of Kevin being axed from the show, but he has since called on fans to ignore "nonsense" claims.

“I will be returning to Strictly this year," he said during a performance of his Burn The Floor tour.

The next day he added: “I’ve been reading for about four months that I’ve quit Strictly or that I’ve been sacked... I’ve no idea where it’s come from.”

Mirror Online has contacted Kevin and Stacey's reps for comment.
