Stable: No new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Hunter district

CONFIRMED cases of COVID-19 have remained stable in the Hunter New England region, with no new cases recorded in the region since Saturday.

Of the 280 diagnosed cases of COVID-19 in the Hunter, 220 have recovered, NSW Health data shows.

There have been more than 21,800 tests in the region, with 1.28 per cent of testing returning positive.

In NSW, an additional two new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday, bringing the state's total to 3004.

Both of the new cases were acquired from known sources, with neither linked to clusters.

There are currently 160 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, including 19 people being treated in intensive care units, with 15 of those requiring ventilators. In NSW, 2227 people have recovered, and there have been no new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

NSW Health is urging people with symptoms, including mild symptoms, to be tested to ensure as many cases of COVID-19 in the community are identified as quickly as possible.
