Stabbing on Park Street - armed police search for culprit

A person was stabbed in the neck on Park Street and armed police officers searched the area last night (Friday, October 23).

Officers were called to the scene, which is close to Nando's, at 9.20pm after reports someone had been assaulted.

They administered first aid to a man who had been stabbed in the neck before he was taken to hospital.

A police cordon is in place this morning (Saturday, October 24) and officers are directing pedestrians to cross the street away from the scene as forensic teams take photos.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: "Officers on patrol in Bristol city centre were alerted to an assault on Park Street.

“The officers administered first aid to a man who had been stabbed in the neck before he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

“Armed officers were deployed to search for one man seen running from the area.

“A cordon was put in place around the scene.

“Enquiries into the incident along with efforts to locate the man are ongoing.”
